The recently launched Watch My Street website continues to attract attention. Wellington City Council (WCC) have been a great partner and were obviously key to getting the initial launch done. We're pleased to see benefits starting to flow to them, in areas such as data validation, where home owners are able to check rating information and provide feedback to WCC on any errors or confusion. the site also demonstrates WCC's commitment to delivering value to ratepayers by allowing data and information to be provided to them in useful and different ways. A key platform for WCC is demonstrating technology and innovation leadership, and Watch My Street is a bulls-eye on that. Finally, obviously, it is about being the coolest capital city on the planet!
For ratepayers, the benefits we are hearing from them include having access to cool tools to gain insight into their house, street, suburb. They tell us that the data analysis we provide, which is all about having useful information to assist in real estate selling and buying decisions, is incredible helpful. Watch My Street is about presenting data as information so for ratepayers the benefit is seeing their house, street and suburb in a completely different way, for example, visual as well as just data, and combining that data to make it informative and useful to their decision making.
We are really pleased with the results so far and are now looking to expand the capability beyond Wellington city boundaries. So if you are interested in having Watch My Street available in your town or city go here to ask.
With success comes kudos too - so we'll leave the last word to Wellington City Council Mayor Celia Wade-Brown.
