Have You Met Agent Anna?

Lots of chat right now about TV One's new soap, Agent Anna. Traditional real estate agents are up in arms about its 'negative' portrayal of the industry.

I confess I have actually watched an episode or two to see what all the fuss is about. Traditional agents don't like it because of the way it portrays agents, the infighting, the foibles, the treatment of sellers and buyers - "its not real" they say. Well of course not, its a TV soap. Reality TV isn't even real.

The actors, of course defend it, saying its pretty accurate in their experience.

I think the actors have it on this one - I bet every agent out there has experienced, seen directly, or had pretty close knowledge of basically everything they have portrayed so far in the series.  The industry is quite rightly working hard to clean up its image and that is going to take a long time and some real hard work. But getting all precious about a TV soap seems a little over the top - from what I have seen it is hilarious. Of course protesting merely increases visibility - the TV producers must love it.

What do you think? Have you watched it? Do the stories ring true based on your experience with real estate agents.

Maybe we can help the writers and join in on the fun - what awesome, right or wrong, good or bad, funny or sad, real estate agent story have they missed? Let us know - we might just send them some suggestions for future episodes!
