A Sanctuary for You and the Kids

30A Hinekura Avenue in Taupo is the sanctuary of Peter and Karen, a busy professional couple with a rugby mad teenage son and a netball crazy daughter. It’s a time of change for this family, with number one son now studying away from home while pursuing a rugby career (no surprises on which takes priority!) and Dad now resident in another town during the week for a great job opportunity. So Karen tell us the girls rule the roost right now (was it ever not that way?), but are very keen to get the family all in one place again.
Access is great from Hinekura Avenue, it’s only a 3 minute drive to Taupo town centre and its shopping precinct. But the Paetiki Shopping Centre is just around the corner which is great if you’ve forgotten anything from the supermarket. Of course there are some great speciality shops right there too - so you can grab some great cuts of meat, top up the wine cellar, and even grab a video right around the corner. Karen also likes the proximity to local schools with Taupo Intermediate and Tauhara College being a 2 minute drive, or if you work in town, Taupo-nui-a-tia is on your way.
A Sanctuary for You and the KidsThe home is on a back section, down a wide cobblestone driveway. Karen tells us it’s very quite and safe. There is also a park for the kids across the road. The house is surrounded by mature trees making it peaceful and relaxing. Karen and Peter love to relax on the deck enjoying views of the Mountain and peeps of the lake over the trees. The local Tui adds to the character, sitting in the trees warbling its morning welcome.

Friends and family are important to Karen and the large kitchen plays a key role. The central location and the open indoor/outdoor flow to the lounge and decks. Karen says it’s a fantastic house for entertaining especially in the summer months when the family (and friends) live on the front deck.
A Sanctuary for You and the KidsOf course with teenagers it’s also good to have some space, and the kids love being downstairs with their own separate “pad”. They often have friends over for sleepovers so they all crash in the spare lounge downstairs and can play their music or work on the computer without hassling mum and dad upstairs.

Peter has secured a job out of town so the family has to move. If it wasn’t for the new career, there is no way Karen and Peter would be shifting - they just love 30A Hinekura Avenue and will miss it dearly. One half of our owners have moved and the other really, really wants to join them. Take the opportunity to make 30A Hinekura Avenue your sanctuary.
